Back from New York

Oh my goodness...we just got home from a whirlwind trip to NY to visit my folks. It was so good to see them and we were able to celebrate my Mom's birthday with her while we were there. It's funny because I love to visit my parents, but I also get a little sad when I see all that I've missed since my last visit. Do you know what I mean? It's definitely the thing I dislike the most about living so far away from them. We focus on the positive though and enjoy the time we have with them while we are there!!!

I'm getting so excited about the holidays! We are decorating today and tomorrow and I'm loving seeing the old homestead all decked out for Christmas. I will post some pics this week to share with you. If you click on over to the TDIPT Mercantile Blog you can take a peek at several wonderfully prim Christmas homes. :-)

I'm finishing up my offerings for the Mercantle this week and hope to have a very special angel to share with you Tuesday on Ebay, as well. I can be so darn picky when it comes to the finishing touches...I sure hope I can get her settled in by then. I would really love to share one last angel with you for the holidays. She's been floating around in my dreams for weeks!!

I almost forgot...my Believe Angel is ending this evening on Ebay ! I hope you'll be able to take a peek at her before she's gone.

Wishing you a blessed evening!! Susan

Tuesday, December 2nd

Good Tuesday morning!! I am LOVING these cooler temps we are getting here in Hotlanta! hee hee The Weather Channel is predicting SNOW flurries here. Now, growing up in upstate NY I can say that what they call snow flurries in the South is what we would call a light dusting in NY. haha I love it all the same though. :-)

I'm so thankful for the inspiration and motivation that the Good Lord has given me these past few weeks. As most of you know, I went through quite a dry spell over the summer and early fall. That was such a weird feeling...I wanted to create, I just couldn't bring anything to the table. It was like my hands and head were willing, but my heart wouldn't contribute. Hmmph...very frustrating.

Here is a sneak peek at my latest Angel...Believe. She will be listed on Ebay this evening. I had so much fun designing and creating her and those wings...I LOVE THEM! I was able to mix in a little creative woodworking by creating her wings from reclaimed wood. What do you think?

I am so honored to have been given two different awards this week from a couple of sweet ladies I've met out here in blogland! First, Karen of Primitive Kountry Happenings bestowed this wonderful award.

And then Primgrl1 gave me this little beauty...

Thank you so much! I will be working on my list to pass these two gems along.

I hope you have a blessed and wonderful day today. Stay warm and I'll chat with you again soon...

Happy Thanksgiving!

For each new morning with its light,

For rest and shelter of the night,

For health and food, for love and friends,

For everything Thy goodness sends.

For flowers that bloom about our feet;

For tender grass, so fresh, so sweet;

For song of bird, and hum of bee;

For all things fair we hear or see,

Father in heaven, we thank Thee!

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

I'm on a roll!

Okay..three posts in one week! What's going on here! It feels so good to be back in working order out here in blogland that I can't stay away! :-)

I'm so excited for all of you that have entered my Happy Holiday Giveaway! Mr. Snowman is really looking forward to his trip to his new home. He's been keeping me company in the studio this week and I gotta tell you...he's a bit of a flirt. With his sparkling eyes and cheerful snowman smile he makes me happy during the day and has put me right in the mood for cold weather and the Holiday season. If you haven't entered yet, all you have to do is leave a comment on my blog to have your name put in my Big Ol' Santa hat. If you want two chances...add my Giveaway banner to your blog!!!

Like I said, this handsome snowfella has put me in the mood for the Holidays and I've been busy in the studio working on these cool Snowfolk. I've added them to my website tonight and will be adding a few more over the next couple of days. I'm working on a cute Candy box all trimmed in the traditional red and green and I am LOVING the way he is finishing up!!!

Tuesday, November 18th

Whew...what a week this has been! I've been designing and creating some really neat Christmas goodies to offer for sale this week. It feels wonderful to finally have some inspiration and creativity flowing again. Working around the house painting and reorganizing really took it's toll on my ability to get into the studio to do any playing around, that's for sure.

I am having so much fun with the Holiday giveaway too! My Santa hat is filling up pretty fast now. I can hardly wait for teh 1st of December to get the drawing underway! :-) Be sure to leave a comment to be entered into the giveaway, ok?

I just listed my Angel of Joy on Ebay this evening. I've been experimenting with new faces and I am really loving this shape. I'm sure I'll still work with some round head dollies, but I like this more oval shape too. What do you think?

A Happy Holiday Giveaway!!!

Well...I've gone and done it now, haven't I? This late night project has cost me all my previous posts....darn it!!!

Okay...I'll just have to start over again ....Fresh starts can be good, right? I'm ready and I am starting out with a new banner that I created in Photoshop...what do you think?

Next on my list will be to get back in there and add all my friends blog addresses. Please let me know you're out there and I'll happily add your blog addy to my list, ok?

I think I will also start out with a Holiday giveaway! What do you think of that?

This handsome fella is one of my early cloth and clay creations...He was featured in Create and Decorate Magazine and has such a sweet endearing face and message. He reminds us all to take time to chase the flakes. It's so easy to get caught up in the holiday hustle and bustle. Remember to have fun...hug your hubby, play games, snuggle with the kiddos, smile at your neighbors! :-)

Okay for the rules ...their very simple. Leave a comment on my blog and your get one entry. Post my Giveaway Button on your blog or website with a link back to my giveaway (and be sure to let me know, ok?) and you'll get 2 entries!!

I will collect all the entries and drop them into my Big Ole' Santa Hat and draw the winning name on the morning of December 1, 2008. Some lucky winner will have this handsome fella flying home to them just in time for the Holidays. :-)

It's time to get busy in the studio so I'll sign off for now! I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon...Hugs--Susan

Please bare with me....

I was updating my blog with a new template and I lost all my links and entries...UGH!! I'm working on getting this all put back together so I hope you'll stay tuned! signed...a very tired Susan...
